Would you do it for a 40% pay increase?

Open source software developers are paid more than other software developers.  Matt Asay found the Report: Open Source Adoption Increases App Dev Pay that says:

The rise of open source software in application development puts developers with a specialization in those technologies in a position to ask for a 30 or 40 percent pay increase

The article implies that it's a supply and demand problem. There's new demand for open source software developers on relatively small projects that not many people know yet.

One of the things I've heard from several open source software developers is they don't want an open source software job. I wonder how much of a raise would tempt them? 40% of $80,000 is a lot of money. I wonder if they accept an open source job for the money, even though they didn't really want one, if it will change their answer to the question "Would you do it again for free?"
