Brian -

Excellent question. While the credits only pertain to the software at this time, there may be a way to offer additional incentives to those that use more "open" hardware, or vendors that are more "Blue" than others. Dell has a Ubuntu option. ( http://www.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/ubuntu?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn ) , so Dell has a blue -er footprint than say... Microsoft. Once I get the Proprietary Software Credit program running I will fully investigate it's analog on the hardware side.

Does a similar plan exist for those of us using closed-source hardware? I've got a dell laptop, mouse and monitor and a Microsoft keyboard.

What do I owe for that?

Do I get a discount since I'm using Ubuntu instead of Windows and Eclipse intead of IntelliJ?
