OpenLogic offers open source scanning products and services that help enterprises understand how much open source they use, how and where it's used, and what needs to be done to comply with open source licenses.
OpenLogic offers two open source scanning tools and a platform for reporting on open source license obligations.
OSS Discovery is a free and open source scanning tool that finds the open source software included in internal applications and installed on corporate workstations and servers. OSS Discovery does not require access to source code, so it's ideal for taking inventory of open source in deployed applications or on servers and desktops.
OSS Deep Discovery scans source code and binaries to identify open source code and licenses, even when the open source code has been modiefied or copied. OSS Deep Discovery is ideal for enterprises that are engaged in M&A activities or that distribute software or products containing software. OSS Deep Discovery can be licensed for in-house use, or OSS Deep Discovery scans can be performed as a service by OpenLogic.
The Open Source License Compliance Module is an add-on feature of OpenLogic Exchange (OLEX) that enables enterprise to report on open source code – and the associated license obligations – included in products or applications. The Open Source License Compliance module integrates with OSS Deep Discovery as well as third party source code scanning tools. It provides a list of open source license obligations based on how the open source code was used, and it highlights any potential license conflicts.
OpenLogic offers a range open source scanning services to help you identify open source, understand open source license obligations, and comply with open source licenses.
Application Audit is service that helps you understand the license obligations associated with the open source software used in products you distribute. We analyze your software for open source software and identify the bill of materials and bill of licenses for open source components, and then aggregate the scan information in comprehensive reports that give you the information you need to make informed decisions about distribution.
Application Certification is an extension of the Application Audit service that takes application auditing one step further by providing certification from OpenLogic that your application has been scanned for open source software and licenses, and that all license obligations have been met.
Open Source License Obligation Analysis is a service that identifies the licenses, obligations, and requirements associated with the open source packages used in the enterprise. This service includes comprehensive reports that give legal and compliance personnel the information necessary to make informed decisions about open source deployments and distribution.
M&A Open Source Audit is a service that helps you perform technical due diligence on software and technology assests involved in mergers and acquisitions. We determine if any open source software is included in the technology assets to ensure that they are correctly licensed and free of intellectual property conflicts, thereby enabling the merger or acquisition to move forward smoothly and without asset devaluation.
Open Source Fulfillment Center is a service that helps you comply with any open source license obligations requiring you to provide open source code included in your products. This service allows you to offload the responsibility of building and maintaining an open source license compliance website and physical fulfillment options.
