Introduction to PHPTypical Course Length: 3 days Course Description: PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) is a cross-platform scripting language that is particularly well-suited to web development. The Introduction to PHP course starts by introducing students to the fundamentals of the PHP language and how to set PHP up on a server, and then continues through the most common server-side functionality incorporated in modern web sites. This course focuses on PHP use in conjunction with the MySQL database, but it also demonstrates how to use PHP with other common databases. |
Advanced PHPTypical Course Length: 5 days Course Description: The Advanced PHP course starts by introducing students to the fundamentals of the PHP language and how to set PHP up on a server, and then continues through the most common server-side functionality. This course focuses on PHP use in conjunction with the MySQL database, but it also demonstrates how to use PHP with other common databases. In the second half of the week, students are introduced to advanced aspects of PHP 5 and how to best leverage its object oriented capabilities. Students learn about design patterns and review tools and techniques that contribute to best practices when developing programs using PHP. |
