Open Source Partnership Enriches OpenLogic Tomcat Offerings and Expands Sales Channels for MuleSoft
BROOMFIELD, Colo. March 24, 2011 - OpenLogic, Inc., the leading provider of enterprise open source support, scanning and governance solutions announced that it has partnered with MuleSoft, the provider of web middleware built on leading open source projects Mule ESB and Apache Tomcat.
Under the partnership, OpenLogic will resell MuleSoft's Tcat Server, which is the leading enterprise Tomcat app server, built on the open source project Apache Tomcat. Tcat Server addresses key gaps in "plain vanilla" Apache Tomcat, with capabilities such as performance monitoring and diagnostics, application deployment, and server and configuration management. Based 100% on the Apache Tomcat binaries, with zero changes to the core code, Tcat Server allows IT teams to migrate from legacy platforms such as Oracle WebLogic and IBM WebSphere to the lightweight and open source Tomcat. Under the partnership, OpenLogic will resell Tcat Server, including support, and provide Level 1 and 2 support for its customers, with MuleSoft providing Level 3 support.
"Tomcat is currently one of the most popular support packages among OpenLogic's customers, and we are pleased to add Tcat Server to our offerings," said Steve Grandchamp, CEO of OpenLogic. "Companies that face the challenge of managing multiple Tomcat servers and instances will find Tcat Server to be an effective and attractive option for using Tomcat in production."
"As an open source vendor, we look to OpenLogic as a key partner in promoting governance and enterprise class support for over 500 different open source software projects, including Apache Tomcat, while providing us with additional market coverage for Tcat Server," said Chris Purpura, VP of Business Development at MuleSoft. "We look forward to working with OpenLogic to help more customers maximize the productivity of Tomcat for the Enterprise."
MuleSoft is the latest open source company to partner with OpenLogic.
