Smaller Download - Use If You Already Have JRE

Download size: 11-12 MB
Prerequisites: Java 1.5 or greater is installed on all of the machines that you wish to scan. For Windows, the JAVA_HOME path variable needs to be set to the root directory of the JRE install such that JAVA_HOME/bin/Java works.
FreeBSD users must, as root, create a symlink to access bash using the following command: ln -s /usr/local/bin/bash /bin/bash.

Download size: less than .5 MB
Prerequisites: Ruby 1.8.6 is installed on all of the machines that you wish to scan. OpenSSL 0.9.8 or higher is required to run Ruby.
Special Note: These versions of OSS Discovery will not deliver scans through an authenticated proxy.
