Thank you so much for the review. I too have heard good news about Dimdim but I don’t have experience with it. I am using <a href="http://www.rhubcom.com" title="RHUB" rel="nofollow">RHUB</a> remote desktop solution. It worked fine for me. A simple and convenient system with no downloads at all!

I tried Dimdim today and found it much better than most of the tools i have used . The speed issue which has been reported by some of the people was not there. I am really impressed with the tool and would start using it.
The tool does not have any rich text editor for mathematical formulas which is mostly required for the school . I would request the development team to consider it in their future releases.

I just found Dimdim and am going through an eval as well. Your overview seems spot on from what I've found. I'll follow-up with anything I see or experience. Thanks!

I have been trying unsuccessfully for months to use DimDim with what I would consider standard PowerPoint presentations. Presentations that I will admit are large, (6-10Meg) and I cannot get the DimDim servers to convert the PPT files without timing out. I cannot find anywhere on there web page where they state a limitation, but it exists. If they cannot convert the presetation within approximately 2 mionutes, the DimDim service times out. The technical support has not been very helpful and, unless they make some major changes, this will not be a business grade service.

Also, I have tried repeatedly to call the number listed on their web page and either get disconnected or a busy signal evey time.

I agree with Lourdes comment. I'm using the free version of dimdim and find it slow to load and slow generally which effects the experience for my customers. Was thinking about upgrading to get better speed but having noticed the comment about speed from Lourdes am not going to bother. Must be a client side issue.

I'm just wondering why this project is promoted as an open source project. I have failed to find the source code?. Just wondering if the 6M infusion changed the outlook for these guys. That's usually what ruins a good open source project, kind of pisses me off really "when and if it happens" especially if I'm contributing code, effort and time.. not to say that's the case here. I just see it happen too much lately.

Hi James,

I haven't evaluated adobe connect. If you do, post your impressions - would be interesting.

Thank you for the review. I was wondering how in your opinion it compares with the adobe connect now service? I am in the beginning stages of researching methods to provide online tutoring. In my opinion, the white board is critical,as most of my face to face students report that one of the most useful parts of our sessions is working through actual problems. Thanks again.
